George is my oldest brother and father to Catherine. He died in road traffic accident on Xmas Eve 1972. He was in the Army from 17 until early 20s and then became a driving instructor, which makes it all the more tragic how he died.
He was a typical young man, liked a laugh and a drink but also took his fatherly duties so seriously. He was overjoyed at the birth of Catherine and so it is tragic that he only had six weeks with her before he was taken, although he would be very proud of her and how she was brought up by my Mum and Dad and she is my sister, as she was adopted, which didn't make any difference to us as she was always our Catherine anyway.
I know he will be looking out for my Becca but also telling her off for leaving us too soon as he often tried to tell me off, not that it did any good as you never listen when you are sixteen.
He is never out of our thoughts and we miss him every day.
